COVID-19
Your overall health and wellness have always been our highest priority. We have been working hard to ensure we have continued to implement the most up-to-date safety and sterilization protocols recommended by OSHA, the CDC and the ADA. In order to maintain the safest environment for our patients and staff, we have implemented the following precautionary measures.
1. Temporary Appointment Check-In Protocol:
- Our waiting room is temporarily closed. Please call or text 262-673-2288 and wait in your car when you arrive. We will notify you as soon as your treatment room is ready.
- Upon entering the office, please go directly to the restroom to wash your hands with soap for 30 seconds.
- A team member will take you directly to the treatment room where your temperature will be taken and a brief current health checklist will be reviewed.
- We ask that only the patient come into the office. If the patient is a minor we ask that they only be accompanied by one parent or guardian.
2. We require any patient to reschedule if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
- If you are sick or have been sick in the last 14 days, we will be happy to help you reschedule. If you are uncertain, please call our office prior to your appointment.
- Please advise our staff if you have traveled to an area considered by the CDC as a COVID-19 “hot spot” in the last 14 days.
- If you or someone you have been in direct contact with has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please call to reschedule your appointment.
3. We always maintain a clean and safe environment and continue to comply with the most up-to-date OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines. Dentistry requires a high level of safety and infection controls.
We have increased our already high standards to ensure patient and team member safety and wellness.
- We sterilize or safely dispose of all instruments and products used during patient care and disinfect all surfaces and patient contact areas frequently.
- We have provided our team members with enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE) including face shields, masks, gowns, etc. to provide extra layers of protection for both patients and staff.
- We have enhanced our air quality controls including a new HEPA air filtration unit in each operatory.
- We have expanded and increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of all common areas and facilities.
4. We support a healthy work environment for our team members:
- We take each team member’s temperature at the beginning of their shift. If any team member is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, we request they not be in the office.
We are closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and the American Dental Association and will continue to seek guidance from these agencies and local public health officials. With new information, we will make the necessary adjustments to our operations and will keep you informed of any changes.
Thank you for your continued trust and confidence in the care you receive at Tooth or Gum Family Dentistry and Orthodontics. If you have questions or concerns, please get in touch. We’re in this together and here to help!
